The aggregate weight of AAPL and MSFT in the S&P 500 is now larger than the energy, real estate, utilities and materials sectors combined. It is almost 4x the size of the energy sector alone. This is not only unprecedented - it is nuts! Like the debt swallowing our economy (the federal deficit just passed $34 trillion), it is also unsustainable.
